Im hoping someone knows a company in the southern PA area that could drill a set of gl*** lenses for blue dots. Or a company or someone that could do it if I ship them. The car Im working on has the new T chrome taillights from speedway that just so happen to have a larger lens than anything else and they don't offer blue dot lenses done. I took the original lenses to the gl*** shop right next door to me to have them drilled and they made the holes too big! Now I have to order another set of lenses and hope someone can drill them without screwing them up.

If I have to Im going to try the sandblasting approach. Taking any sort of drilling mechanism to the lens makes me shutter. I read a few other threads on here before posting and no one mentioned a company that did them. I guess I will do them myself if I absolutely have to.

A good waterjet guy should be able to do it for you.

I'd buy a diamond hole saw for tile work. Run it slow and keep it wet.

Cl***ic Industries sells a diamond hole saw for drilling the lenses.
I didn't buy it when I got the new center lense for my wife's 54 panel because she does stained gl*** and wanted to drill it herself.
She got it done, and then dropped the lense in the sink while washing it and broke the stupid thing.

The hole was drilled with a 1" bit and from what I've read it should have been a 25/32". Either way I've got 2 useless lenses. Maybe glue could hold them in but that's going to look terrible.

  12. Try cutting out a circle of opaque blue acrylic sheet and gluing it into the hole-
The blue dots are only a lens. It can't hurt to try!

diamond holesaws are available on Ebay cheap I bought a set for the hell of it to see how they worked Used a cordless drill ran a little water on the gl*** and drilled the hole in about a minute Perfect A buddy of mine with No Talent did the same for his blue dots and they are perfect

THE diamond hole saws are probably the best deal, but if you are skittish about them & drilling, you could use a DremelMoto tool & a grinding bit for gl***. Probably need a couple of them (there are of course, different shapes & sizes) for the job, but they aren't expensive. Use it just like a grinding stone, (run it full-speed), in fact it looks like one, just is a different color (for quick ID) & material. I've used them before, are kinda slow, & dusty, but they do work. Just duct-tape the surface, so's if you "miss", you won't damage the rest of the lens. & it's also good for taking the sharp edge off of the hole someone else drilled.

    FWIW.

  17. I did mine with a diamond drill bit my wife had for doing her stained gl*** and it worked perfectly.A WORD OF CAUTION!!!
When doing this use plenty of water on the bit and wear protective clothing!Full coverage eye protection;gloves(throw them away afterward as they will be full of gl*** dust)and most important;a respirator! NOT a paper mask!Gl*** dust is extremely fine and very invasive.
