The BEST place for dummy spots is in a dark corner of the trunk (boot)! :D

But, if you insist, they usually are attached to the painted area of the screen pillar, not on the stainless. :)

working spotlights were mounted on the doors. "post" cars had a mounting bracket that wrapped around the chrome trim, hardtops and convertibles had a bracket under the beltline trim.

not a big fan of dummy spots myself.... just don't mount them on the hood. that is the worst spot.

Problem is on these cars If you mount real or dummy spots where they're supposed to be mounted they stick outwards at a funny angle.

Hi, I have a '50 chevy coupe and I am placing my dummy spotlights on the post with the bottom of the mounting bracket down to the windshield trim and the side of the bracket back to the rain guard with both mounting screws into the post and the gl*** of the spotlight pointed at the windshield. I am 70 years old and this is how we mounted our spots back in the the 50's. Hope this helps you....and no matter how you mount your lights....post a picture after you get them mounted. We "the H.A.M.B. network" love pictures! Ray...

I see from your pic that there is less pillar area than I remembered. The drip rail and the w/s stainless are very closely spaced. Sorry for misleading recommendation earlier.

Looks good with the rest of the theme.
