I am currently building a 383 to go in my 89 c1500 I have dart heads 2.05 1.06 w/ 64cc comb. chmbrs and 180cc runners mild porting with a weiand x-celerator intake and. Headers of coarse ... I haven't got a cam yet but I'm planning on low 500's lift I currently have and edelbrock 600 and I'm wondering if that will give this motor enough juice I'm not planning on bringing it to the track but I also don't want it to starve... will this combo work well???? Any help would be great

That motor is still more traditional than 25% of the motors on this board.....

switch intake to a airgap ...a 750 dp holley and a little 555/292 lunati solid roller. will make good power all around and still be driveable. about a 3500 convertor and your good.

a hyd roller will be a better street wise cam but had good results with the combo mentioned...205 seems big for a 180 head

Have a made a mistake with my post??? There seems to be a lot of tomfoolery lol... Thanks for the info I am pretty much out of money at thus point and pretty much stuck with what I have and im wondering how its going to be... I really didn't have a choice with the heads I thought the 2.05 was a little large but didn't think it to be a huge difference was a wrong???

You made the mistake of saying "89 c1500" if you said tupperware '32 ford on street rod chassis you'd be offically OK(not that i agree)

This is supposed to be a traditional pre65 hot rod forum....

I think a 750 will be fine too. BTW next time just leave out the part about the 89 truck just tell them it's for a Gasser then they will love it.
