Technical Help decoding ford 9in tag

    I've searched all over the net to try to figure out what the numbers mean on this id tag . The rearend is out of my 63 ford p/u. I assume the 3.89 is the gear ratio, but not positive . If anyone can point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it.

    Yes, 3:89 ratio. IF it were a locker it would display 3 L 89

    C3TA is the ford code for 1963 Ford Truck

    C = 1960s decade
    3 = 3rd year
    T = Truck

    Thanks fellas !! Just wondering how this gear ratio would do with a 300 inline 6 with a c4 or aod .
