I am having a problem finding this engine code anywhere. It is in my '60 Pontiac Ventura 2dr hardtop. I can find all of the different engine option codes, but not this one. Any help would be appreciated! ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1393772506.401074.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1393772525.858968.jpg

  2. Closest I can find is a K5 in 61. That's a 257 horsepower 389 with 7.8:1 compression and a 315 hydramatic ******. Whole lotta water over the dam since 1961.

I know. It's weird I can't find a C5 anywhere. The other odd thing on this car is the two tone paint code. It is a CL paint code which seems to be Shelltone Ivory with a Coronado Red roof. I can't find any pics of a 60 Pontiac with that combo. Most seem to have been painted a solid color.

Isn't that just date code and casting #? Shouldn't the C5 code be an indicator of the HP, torque, and carburation/2bbl or 4?

All kinds of 60 Pontiacs had the 2-tone paint scheme......probably the darker bottom was the most common, but I looked at 60 Ventura that had a white body with blue roof.

Another day and more searching. Still no sign of a C5 coded engine.
