  1. Most likely there is going to be a cut off. We don't have a magic number yet. We will see how pre registrations keep going. I would not wait to get on the list. Tell your buddies before it is too late. It is better to be safe than sorry.

Someone from this board has to buy this thing and bring it to Meltdown... You can bet your lucky HAMB tag that my brother and I are counting pennies and looking at delivery options ... The thought of selling the Prefect project to make it happen was seriously discussed.

This might be the coolest thing .... ever. The Hero factor is off the charts especially for a car this slow. This is not my ebay add and I am not promoting it for any other reason except ... it's too cool to ignore !

That's pretty awesome, and unfortunately for me,likely to be quite a bit faster than what I will be driving at the Meltdown....lol
On the bright side,I did get a nice new Biltwell helmet to wear in the car at the races so I don't look completely out of place with a modern motocross helmet on my noggin in a period correct car.
Here's my youngest boy Bruno modelling it:

Powrshftr I hope that the helmet fits your better than Bruno's. That is one big co-pilot you have there. all though I should get one for Bear, he likes to hang out the window pretty far on a ride

He's 180lbs,so if we have any traction issues I can stuff him in the trunk for ballast!

Just heading back to my storage building to finish pulling the springs so I can send them out to be rearched and gain a touch of quarter panel clearance
The little things on this car are killin me!

Uncle Dirty....can we find the 40 Willy's Handshaker? He is a Northern stick car.....just thinking

  10. Scott, make sure you cinch that chin strap good! We don't want that helmet blowing 180 degrees on you, and turning you into Helen Keller, when one of the southern boys comes marching by! :)

I'm working on a little Mason/Dixon insurance right now Ric.....it's not gonna stop some of the faster rigs from getting around me,but I'm sure one or two Southern boys will be surprised by the way this lil Ol Ford runs....

Although all that will probably be offset by my tuning skills, which are probably on par with Helen Keller...!:D

  12. As far as the tuning, just give her what she asks for.

Hey Ric, are you making any progress? Have you started messing with the Jackson intake setup yet?
    Just a heads up...there are 137 working days left.:D

  14. I got the pistons back from Calico Coatings today, and they are ***y! Augie Delgado is going through the Jackson's as we speak, and should have them ready by the time we get the long block ***embled. I'll have the car to the ch***is shop in a week or two, to get some "scary 60's" front suspensions stuff tuned up, as well as putting the clutch/brake pedal back in the floor, "ole school" like it was before the previous owner took it all out and THREW IT AWAY!!! ARGH!

sounds like you have a plan. Do you think your going to do any street driving it with the injection?

  16. Oh ya baby! You should see Augie with his Nova, he drives that thing all over the place.

  17. I would love to bring my old Detroit Street Racer but it missed the criteria by 1 year
I guess I'll be spectating instead of jamming gears.

I'm hoping to pull of the same thing with my model A and a four port Hilborn.

...if anyone's interested, there's a little motel in Oregon, Illinois on Route 2 along the Rock River just north of town... the Chateau Lodge
Ph. 815-732-6139....only about 10 miles from the strip. A few meltdown racers stayed there last year.

So I finally got the rear springs off the car tonight....in the dark,by the light of my cell phone,in an unheated storage unit, laying on a concrete floor,at -13....Ugh.
But it's one step closer to getting those springs re-arched,gaining some tire clearance, and getting ready for the Meltdown.

Oh,and Ric,in case you missed it:That was your cue to heckle me about how you wore shorts and sandals and SPF # 50 sunblock to work today.:D

    Dave:
There was so much damn snow that I might have been in the wrong locker...Haha!

Starting to knock off a bunch of little items that I was never too happy with.
Once I get everything straightened up and working right I might even have time for one or two speed tweaks on the old heap.:)

Don't sweat too much you know some of mine might back out by then, but I'm thinking a few more might want in by then.
