Hello folks, Been lurking here for a while and finally got around to registering. Life long car nut, grew up in Danvers M*** and spent a lot of time cruising Beverly, Salem area. Used to hang at the Willows quite a bit during the late 70's, early 80's. Had some fun hot rod cars over the years, took a 12 yr break while playing with offshore powerboats. Just getting back into it and bitten pretty hard. While surfing around this amazing site, I see some familiar names from years past. Good to see everyone is still into it big time and doing well. Got a couple projects in the works, always loved the 55-57'S and had the opportunity to purchase a 55 Chevy G***er from the family of a very close friend who p***ed away fall 2012. Been busy waking up this old beast after a 17 year nap in a barn. Finally got it sorted out and roadworthy mid January, was dying to cruise it and decided to pack up, load it and tow on down to Daytona Beach for a week of cruising. Had a blast running the 55 and meeting new hot rod friends. Really looking forward to some events this Summer. Kurt in Maine
Thanks for the warm welcome! Really enjoying surfing around here. Love the New England Dragway thread as I spent a lot of time there when I was much younger. Knew Bob Ellison very well, he was such a great guy to talk to. Home for the next 2 weeks, got some time to spend reading the cool threads and looking at all the incredible pictures. It's endless!
