I ordered a set of Firestones along with radial tubes on January 27th, from summitracing.com. To begin with the order wasn't shipped until February 19th, because the tubes were out of stock, and constantly got delayed. Then, when I finally got a package delivered to me as late as earlier this week (3rd of March) guess what it was? The ******* tubes! I mean, why the hell were they waiting to ship the tires while waiting for the tubes, when they don't arrive together anyway?!

So now I'm sitting here, with nothing but a set of radial tubes which I regret I ordered in the first place, and a total of $1,900 less in my pocket. When I track the order it says it's in transit to country of destination, and it's been that way for 4 days now. I've also tried to reach Summit by e-mail but they won't get back to me.

    What do I do?

Have you tried calling? Not sure if there would be a language barrier or not but that would be my next step.

As everyone else said call them. Other than that the tires may be on a ship, too large for plane?

For God's sake, you are in Sweden, not Ohio ! You aren't going to get shipments as fast as you might like, there are things like shipping delays (it's been snowing badly and shipments are being held by UPS, FedEx, etc) plus, you have customs to clear and all of that.

Summit is a superb company to deal with so why not just call them and ask instead of complaining on a forum that can't help you at all ? Summit did their job, the tires are "in transit" so now it is out of their control.

Cut him a little slack. from his point of view hes dealing with a foreign company in a foreign country and may not be totally familiar with our weather / seasons.

The boat had to stop in China to pick up the tires, and that's a long way from Sweden.

Hope they did not have an un-forseen accident. Usually in Transit is a good thing they should arrive.

Update this thread when and if they do arrive

    Guys,

Toll free phone numbers don't work for us who are out of the country.

I just looked up and notice they have a live chat link under their customer service section. I suggest that might be a go, as then if your english isn't that flash at least you will stop any issues with miss communication, and lets face it sometimes the yanks aren't that easy to understand on the phone either. At least with typing you both should be clear on what you want and what the outcome is.

All the best, but it seems their a good company to deal with.

Worst comes to the worst, I'm guessing you paid via credit card, if you don't get your tyres then you can call your card company to chase it up as non delivered purchased goods.

Wouldn't you think that anyone living overseas would already know that foreign shipments are not going to be quick ? Even Canadian shipments can get held up in customs or otherwise delayed, so Sweden should be even slower, I would think.

But his gripe isn't with Summit, it is with whomever the carrier is. It has left Summit's hands and is somewhere enroute. Even I have had shipments coming to me that were in limbo because of shipping delays.......when I would put the tracking number in it would come up and say "Shipment in route to the destination", and that is all they could tell me.

Try a little patients....two weeks or more in transit doesn't seem unreasonable to me.

Why would he go to a local hospital and talk to the patients

Would they know anything and be able to help him ?

He should try a little patience.
His shipment will arrive. Shipping to overseas locations is slow especially if they were shipped ground.

for those tell him to slow down he's in another country i can say with VAST experience that for some reason stuff tends to get to sweden pretty damned quick. i used to sell ALOT of stuff to swedes and was very surprised at the short shipping times. the biggest example that sticks out in my head is a few years ago i sold a set of wheels to a guy in CA and another set to a swede the same week. shipped both out together. the swede got his wheels 2 days before the guy in CA did.

tires should be air not boat unless they've changed package size regulations again so i don't think it's boat holding it up....

They are probably sitting at Swedish customs waiting for the paperwork to be processed.....

I got a reply from Summit today, saying that the tires are on their way.

I still find it odd though, because they've had the same tracking status for 5 days, and when I ordered wheels from them earlier this year, they arrived only 6 days after I placed the order.

    Thanks for the replies anyway!

I would also advise to use a little patience... i had it happen with Summit shipments to me also. Shipments that arrived in two different packages arrived on different days, even though they were shipped simultaneously from Summit they arrived up to more than a week apart...
What shipper did they use? Normally UPS or FedEx are over here in 2-4 days, whereas USPS packages for example take up to 6 weeks to arrive (Excluding custom processing).
So far everything I ordered from Summit did arrive here, in most cases sooner than later and I still think they are one of the top notch sellers regarding reliability and speed of shipping...
