Hello fellow car freaks, My name is Matt and I love old cars (duh), especially rare or unique ones. I recently purchased a 51 Buick Super 4 Door. It has great patina, curves, tons of stainless, the awesome front bumper, and the side open hood. I located the car in Kentucky, drove down from Iowa, rented a uhaul trailer, and brought it back in 24 hrs straight. 20 hrs was all driving the other 4 hrs were food/potty breaks and loading the car up. It sat in a field for a couple years if the previous owner is being honest. Hoping to see if the motor is free this weekend. It has rust issues in the rockers and a few other minor places. I just want to get it mechanically sound, get some wide white on her and leave the exterior with the patina look. I'm sure I'll have lots of questions once I get started. Hoping I didn't make a poor choice going with a straight 8 and dynaflow ******. Anyone with helpful ideas please feel free to let me know. Thanks

Pulled the plugs today. 6 of them were black, & 2 had rust. 1 was broke and had a rubber sleeve over it. Sprayed penetrating oil in & letting it soak. Gonna try & see if she is free tmrw. Pulled valve cover & everything looks clean & together. I'll post pix Monday

The gas tank is pulled and is dry and has a bunch of rust inside. Put some gas in the carb and after about 6 tries she fired. After a couple more trys she ran for about 10 seconds without making any funny noises. I'll slowly start doing little things here and there. Don't worry this is my last post in the introduction for this. I'll post future updates on the other threads. I've seen how some guys get **** hurt if you post in the wrong area
Thanks. I would love to make Torquefest but May 3rd is my son's 1st birthday. If I missed that it would be divorcefest....on second thought.
