Does anyone know the stock window height for a 1950 Merc? I'm trying to figure out how many inches my Merc was chopped.

Next week, maybe Tuesday, I can measure the windows on my unchopped '51 two door. There are probably plenty of guys that can go out to the garage before then to measure theirs. I bet some guys around here could look at a side photo of your car and tell you how much it's been chopped. I've read about plenty of chops where the A Pillars (windshield) and C Pillars (between quarter window and rear window) are chopped different amounts to get the roof to flow. You might not get an exact figure of how much it's chopped, but you'll be able to get a close idea.

I'm out of town for work so I can't confirm, but I seem to recall the side gl*** is right around 12".

The door has a curve going down near the front of the window vent so it measures back of gl*** 11 3/4'' front of gl*** near vent 10 3/4'' hope this helps.

If you measure at the windshield at the center they are right around 16-5/8" Measuring at the peaks of the sheetmetal. the sides gets a bit more tricky. You need to lay down marker points so we can take measurements In the same spots

  7. Measuring the difference from stock to chopped, I would measure dead centre of front screen. At least that will give you the exact A pillar cut.
The rear is anyones guess from there.

So I measured it and this is what I got.
The center point of the front windshield is 13 inches. The side window measures 9.5 inches in the front, 10 inches in the middle and 9.5 inches to the rear. The back side window measures 9 inches at the highest point.

your pretty much what i would call a 3-1/2" chop in the front and probably about 4" at the C pillar where that chunk was removed. This was my buddies, we took out 3.5" in the front and I think 3.5-4" in the rear. been a long time...
