Just trying to figure out my options on possibly reproducing a nos 4x4.5 spidercap. Any suggestions on how I get started in the process of getting a prototype. And or any company's that I could get into contact with . I have the original cap so they could go off of that. Thanks for any input - Brett

Saw a car with polished chainlink fence caps and chrome lug nuts. Looked like spiders at first. Much cheaper, too.

When typing that in, just a bunch of "emachines" related sites pop up.

    Would it be eandemachine.com ? Or eemachine.com ?

    He probably means: http://www.emachineshop.com/

Funny I see this post, I've been looking for a set of four lug spider caps for years..Well,one, yes, just one, sold on that despised acution site the starts with an E yesterday.I thought of buying it just to have, but realised that it would be nothing more than a paper weight for me. First time I saw one since I started searching. As someone else here mentioned, it would be cheaper and easier to just use chrome pointed lug nuts and a cone for the center like the ones Moon sells and have the same effect.

Thank you, I will look into that site. I know that there are some people who have been on the search for some 4 lug caps. Obviously not big sellers when they were first made by cal custom. I was just surprised no company has reproduced them. Like everyone else who is a Loyal 4 Lugger i have been searching for these rare sets. I finally have one with all the mounting hardware and I figured I would give it a shot and try to reproduce them. Granted it is cheaper to just run a bullet cap and lugs but this idea has been in my head for quite some time

Considering what it costs to just build a pattern for casting, the maker will have to sell a lot of sets to even break even on it. Patterns for cast pieces can run from $1500-$3,000 or more, depending on how complicated they are.
If I wanted 4 lug spider caps I'd buy 5 lug, and re-fabricate the 4 lug sheetmetal piece that sits behind the center cap from the 5 lug piece. It could be fabbed up, and then chromed much easier and cheaper than making up the patterns for casting.

Spider caps have a center cone, lug nut covers, and a plate that bolts behind the lug nuts which is usually a thin piece of stainless. I would think any good fab shop with a lazer table could draw out the 4 lug backing plate and cut out a big stack out of stainless in only a few hours. The acorn lug covers and center bullets are already available new. You could have a 100 un***embled complete sets made in an afternoon.

Where are the acorns available ? I've never seen them . I was thinking something like this but out of spun aluminum with a flange at the end to push through the base plate but if there is a place that sells them already that would be awesome
