    Hi

i have some questions about the
    Chrysler Brake System.

    Whats is the difference between
    Normal Brake and Power Brake??

    An other Masterzylinder?
Va*** Booster only with Power Brake
or with the Normal Brake too?

I hope it comes a answer.

    Thanks
    Mario

A Chrysler with power brakes will have a vacuum booster behind the master cylinder. A standard(normal) brake car only has the master cylinder. Hope this helps!

What year Chrysler are you wondering about? I know in my 50 Desoto the master cylinder is on the frame and there would be a raised area under the drivers seat with the booster. You might ask the question on p15-d24.com as they are the experts.

Thanks guys for the first Informations.

My Chrysler is a 1954 New Yorker.
    And with Power Brakes.

Andy Bernbaum / Old Mopar Parts
says that the Normal Brakes and Power Brakes have the same Masterzylinder.

Chrysler used to put the vacuum ***ist unit linked to the pedal linkage so it aided in depressing the master cylinder in parallel to the pressure your foot generated.

It wasn't like a GM type unit where the master cylinder was mounted right onto the ***ist chamber.

So the same master cylinder was used in either situation. However, the actual linkage inside the car is different for a standard un***isted brake system than that used in a power ***isted braking system.

So if you are considering changing from a standard braking system to a vacuum ***isted system, you are likely going to want to find the pedal linkage setup for the vacuum ***isted type as well.
