Technical Early Olds Hydro to Olds Jetaway motor ??

Hi,
Pretty sure from the memory file pretty much the only thing I need to change to get my spare 56 motor (ex a 98 and jetaway equipped) to hook up to my 55 Hydro will be to get the pilot bushing hole in the back of the 56 crank machined out to mate the Hydro right ? anyone done this and have anything to share ?

If you have a '56 engine with the jet away crank, then you need a pilot bushing. No machining required.

You only have to machine the crank, if you want to use the jet away with the earlier engines.

 

sweet I had it the other way round in my head thinking the Hydro needed the bigger hole. do you know if anyone sells a pilot bushing to fit or just a matter of getting one machined up ?

 

I know Tony at Ross Racing engines sells them.
But you got all the pieces right there to measure, so I you got the capabilities making one shouldn't be to big a deal.

 

Years back i mated a hydro (the 4 speed one) to a 61 394 olds. The only thing required on that was to get the back of the 394 crank drilled to accept a bushing for the hydro input shaft. It worked fine.
