    I currently have 215/70r14's on my 58 Cheftain :

I want to go to 235/70r15's(something to fill up the wheel wells) and some Super Spoke Cragars eventually.I just wanted some input if this combo would possibly work?I now have Manual steering and also will want to do disc brakes down the road. Thanks guys

Very cool car.. I think it would look good with 6.70x15's or even G78 or H78x15's and keep the hub caps.. It probably would steer a little easier with bias plys also.. Did I mention very cool car...

I know. The more I look at it the more I think I should just leave it be.I wanted to have it look more like a street rod then again the old skool look as it is can be appealing.I really appreciate you guys input.I am toying with lots of ideas but I enjoy getting other opinions as well. Thanks again

You'll notice a big improvement in steering ease if you switch to some correct bias plies.

You can get some pretty large bias plies in 14" that would fill out the wheel openings.

6.70's are to small they were on Fords and Chevies. bigger cars like Buick, Pontiac and Olds need something like 7.60's which would be an H tire

Wow, beautiful car. A wheel change would be a step backwards.

Very nice car. I have to agree with everybody about leaving it alone. To make it more " American Graffiti " your going to have to change a lot to get that look. As it sets now you have a great looking custom.

Thanks guys.I believe you all just saved me some money..lol..I have been torn about the looks but after hearing from the pros I will probably stay like it is.I really like having y'all's opinion it does go along way with me.I still haven't driven this car believe it or not.Since Dad gave me this I haven't had a place to keep it.I just go and visit every couple weeks.Soon I will have my garage and a new gravel driveway(.2 of a mile) and home she will be.Again thanks for y'all's responses.
    Peace

The hardest thing for the owner of a "perfect-as-it-is" car is to leave it alone. Leave it alone. It's perfect as it is.

if you are doing cragers, I assume you want a 60s vibe, so go with thin 3/4" whitewalls.. not the fat ones you have on the car now.

I did^. One more word of wisdom, at least leave it alone on till you drive it some and get to know the car. Then if you find it is just not your style and you are just not happy then make some changes. Making everybody else happy may not be the best thing you. If your not happy, then it's no longer fun.
