Hell man if you can lay your hands on that go for it!! I'm picking up a 60 anglia for the wife shortly... Small euro cars would probably be alot of fun to modify...
Hell you could easily go insane gasser with that thing, custom lowrider... and if you really wanted, just swap in a motor from somthing modern with a modern drivetrain.. I would love to see other weird rods that are here in the states....
every now and then a volvo pops up at shows... but you dont see the really weird stuff that has to be lurking out there in the weeds...

OK... back to your original question... What is the story on the Goliath wagon? Where in the hell did you find it? you gonna get it?

I am thinking you could have a ton'o'fun with that beast. Move the front wheel wells forward, nose bleed a straight axle under the front, stuff an injected 392 in between the rails spittin thru fenderwell pipes, slide a 9" w/ slicks under the rear and hammer down... altered fun!!

    welcome aboard

you can blow that rally cross car comment out your fucking ass, you tard. (parking lot cone dodgers suck though, so get it right!) when rally cross finally gets big enough out here, that we get some half way decent courses, with AC, gravel, and dirt all mixed in a 1/2 mile then i will be much happier...like the ones over in the fuckin land o'limeys.

dude, you rock, it takes cojones (or a lack of insight) to drop into a forum with out knowing what is going on it. Just like if any of these geriatrics stuck thier lead heads in on some VTEC site.

i think your opening post was awesome. scoring some oddball micro is always cool. you can have a car collection that could be hung on the wall...beside your ameri-beast.

definately need some more info on the Goliath, got any good DKW leads, or some cool early SAAB stuff (92's, 93's?)

hang in there, but i would suggest pm'ing ryan and asking for a handle edit (maybe: goliath fiend) cause regretably there are many narrow minded fuck sticks on this forum.

maybe he's on other forums and wants to keep the same name for memory's sake.... I see nothing wrong with that Tman....

Funny story, when I first came to this site years ago, I had visions of big huge 20" wheels tucked under my 51 vicky. I went out and bought a wrecked mustang 5.0 so I can get the motor, tranny, wiring harness and ecu so I can have EFI. I came to this board with my intentions, hung around, and learned a lot. I'm sure DA9tegra will also.... This site is too cool for him not to.

Just a thought: Isn't that car still buried near Pella? He could dig it up now that it's started to snow.

Welcome to the new, kinder gentler HAMB.

In the old days, these guys woulda shoved a driveline up your butt and called you a popsicle. Then they would have called Germ to finish you off.

If you want to get interested in old hotrods stick around.

Talking about Accuras around here is about like telling your date's dad how big your dick is. Not a wise opening move.

As for the mini 4 banger european stationwagon, it's kinda cool in it's own way, but not what I'd consider as traditional hotrod material. If it's cheap, pick it up and learn on it. Then go build a real hotrod or custom.

wouldnt know, the goliath is somewhere in Cali, it was on another site, and i was just wondering what it was because i thought it was kinda interesting looking, but hey there mnight be one in pella, hard to say.

i do know of a few rare peices floating around southeast iowa, and just about 10 miles from my college theres an ultimate scrap yard/ graveyard filled with a couple hundred rod worthy vehicles and maybe one of the biggest tri5 chevy collections(guy probably has 40 different ones laying around including a couple nomads). not to metion a ton of other neat stuff just sitting. just down the road from my house in a timber is an 46 ford 1tonner grain truck(missing the bed though) thought about trying to get it, and resell it to someone for a carshow car carrier, so i am pretty well off on finding a project since i know quite a few spots.

i think that goliath will look sweet, shaved, lowered with fish tail pipes out the back, on straight pipes... maybe with some scallops on it. i will tow it behind something really large, like a '55 desoto and use it as a swapmeet cruiser. oh, and a huge cb antenae on the roof so it looks like a remote control car!

welcome to HAMB, have fun here, I would say avoid the tri five chevies, everybody has one, especially the gold chainers. The grain truck as a car carrier, that sounds interesting though...

Havent seen a Goliath Wagon before, but I have seen a Sedan.
Just waiting for the Gasser treatment.
I thought about it for a while but I cant do it.

    Its too, ehhh... aestheticelly challenged.

Carl Borgward owned 3 Car Factories.

Lloyd, Goliath, and Borgward. ( thats why they all look alike... )

  19. So if I show a pic of a car Chip Foose built does that make me a gold chainer?

Are you working on the old ford because you picked it or that's what they had that needed someone to work on it?

Here's my slant on it. Most of us have other interests, probably even a tuner freak or two on here. But this isn't the time or place for off topic crap.

If you're here because you are interested in Trad Rods than hang out and learn, doesn't look like you're gettin much help where you're at.
If you're here because you heard that we can answer the questions that your teacher can't and then you want to impress us with his high zoot rod on trad clothing, or with your tunner crap you are probably in the wrong place.

I personaly hope that you're here for the first reason, Never pass up the chance to corrupt another would be yuppie.
If you can comprehend what I'm endevoring to convey (that's high zoot for can you dig it) then you'll probably make the trip. If not then its probably going to be a long walk back to the dealership's garage, and you probably better get started, there are floors to be swept.

AND WHAT IS WRONG WITH TRI-5 CHEVYS? LOL ya... I'm a gold chainer... wish I had their money though hahahah

Stick around kid, you'll do fine. Just don't mention the ricers, hahah. AutoXcross is fun, I raced my buddies 97 Neon ACR and came with in a 1.2 second of his best time. Oh.... my wife's 97 Camry has 280,000 runs great, but it's still a ricer piece of crap LOL. I hate new cars, too small.

yep very fun, and those that have never done it have no idea what they are missing and bashing on, it takes some great skill in driving to do it, same goes for Rally Racing and Road Course Racing.

i got into autoX so i would get better at Road Racing courses, because 1 day i want to be able to run on the nurburgring in Germany, one of the absolute craziest tracks ever built, 14.3 miles and 140some corners, that is my ultimate goal in life the 1 thing i must do before i die.
