Awesome project, as far rust goes it is a solid car. My dad was a body man starting in the 50's and said that they were replacing the rockers in these 50's mopars even after they were only a couple of years old. I had a 57 and it was a rust bucket but the rockers were solid. I got looking at it one day and they had been replaced many many years earlier probably long before the rest of the car had rotted out. I am mopar all the way and love these cars. They are very overlooked.

Well, I havent updated this post for a while, but wanted to get it done since ill be working on the car again with the upcoming warmer weather, The 383 motor is built, i picked up a 4 speed and bell housing for it. along with some other vintage items. The main thing i was looking for showed up with the fedex driver today. When i started this project I had a couple things in mind, first, I like to use as many old parts as I can, second, I like to be different and use things that are wild that you just dont see a whole lot, heres where mr fedex driver comes in, he delivered my edelbrock 6x2 intake for my 383 today! These are really hard to come by for mopar big blocks. I was lucky to find one. it came with rochester carbs, Ill still need to rebuild them and figure out a linkage for them, but the main thing is I have the piece to use, and its damn cool. Ill be updating when I do work on the car, its been a long road, but I want to use parts that arent easy to find.

Love those stacks, and if they were taller they could poke through the hood and indeed look like injection stacks!

It's interesting to see it has balance tubes side to side, but not front to back. Wonder how the tuning will be with 4 pairs of carbs to tune?

If you canbuy the pile of rust from some owner who has it in the backwoods and has not touched it in many years but still thinks it is worth thousands of $$$
p.s. I am from wisconsin too.. would love to fin cars that are in the shape of the original poster's

Your right. Still wonder how it will be tuning THREE pairs of carbs?
