im trying to find some caps for my stock buick wheels. push through bullet caps wont work, but i did find some bullet center caps from wheel vintiques that say "will fit on 14"-16" smoothies. Are my stock buick's smoothie's?

    - ive tried the search and couldn't find anything"

I think of smoothy wheels as being non-vented.

"smoothie" wheels is kind of a generic term for aftermarket wheels with no windows which typically have a dual bolt pattern and a standardized center cap mount. The center cap mount is actually based on the 70's Chevy rally wheel.

So in all likelyhood, they will not fit your Buick wheels, unless you rig up some kind of ingenious mounting hardware. If you're determined to keep your original wheels and you want a bullet style center cap, then most likely you're looking for 5 on 5" bolt pattern spider caps. Kinda pricey but they look the part.

Push throughs won't work, even if you find the right diameter, because the center hub hole is made to fit tight over the centers of your drums/hubs. You might be able to bore them out for clearance, but that can be a lot of work.

The vents in vented steelies really do serve a worth while purpose especially for you guys who live in a mountainous area and often have to use a lot of brake. They will help to some extent to allow some heat to dissipate away from the brakes.

Like yourself HRP, I have solids on my '40 Coupe. I wanted to put vented steelies on it but at the time (a number of yrs. ago) Wheels Vintique didn't offer them in 14" (for the front). Now I'm totally reconsidering putting 15"s on the front 'cause the 14"s have never looked right. They just don't fill up the wheel wells. Oh well, live and learn.......and spend more money.:(

Beware that a lot of those caps from wheel vintiques will only fit their wheels or the chevy rally like was mentioned before.
I'm not familiar with your Buick wheel, but read the details carefully on the website.

There was a little discussion on this recently over on chevytalk as somebody bought one of their replica caps thinking they would fit a stock wheel
