Jack will be missed. He was a nice guy. Bought him a diet coke at bar in Nashville. It was weekend of Goodguys show. Offered to buy him beer. He said no thanks. I said anything. He said diet coke. He was just there for music it was very good that nite. Sad he's gone. Cool guy!

  5. My heart sank when I read the title - I was at Detroit last weekend like thousands of others. So sad, he will be missed. Thoughts go out, not just to Troy and the family, but to the Rad Rides Crew as well-I'm sure they were close. The entire automotive world has suffered a huge loss.

There would be no "Troy" today without Jack. I mean, when Troy was young and wanted to start out on the custom car track, Jack encouraged him and didn't try to push him into staying with the big truck shop work. Every kid should have that kind of support and love. Jack could be blunt and seem crabby, but like others here have said, he respected hard work, honesty and imagination.

    RIP, Jack
    Condolences to the family

I have had the great fortune to know the Trepanier family for over 20 years. We have stopped many times in Manteno to visit the shop on the Street Rodder/AMSOIL Road Tour. Every single time Jack and Judy and Troy have gone out of their way to make us feel welcome. Jack would coordinate our visit and Judy would bake us cookies. They always made sure we had plenty to see when we arrived. During our stop last September Jack walked us across the street to the pizza shop, bought us dinner and sat and talked and laughed with everyone. Jack was a special person in the Chrome Plated Carnival that makes up many of our lives. We have lost too many lately. It really puts into perspective what is important in our lives. It is family and friends. There is no doubt in my mind that Troy would give back every trophy, award and magazine article to have one more day with his beloved father. God Speed Jack. We will all catch you again at some point.

  12. I have followed Troy Trepanier's work for nearly twenty years, and during much of that time Jack Trepanier or Troy's grandfather would come up in the article or during an interview. As soon as I heard the news I instantly thought about the interview that Troy did for Ron Covell when he was showing off Chicayne. During that interview Troy got choked up when he thought about his dad and him not being around some day. My heart hurt for Troy then and it does more now, but also for Judy and the rest of the family and the Rad Rides team.

I didn't know Jack personally, but saw him times at various car shows and Hot Rod events. To say that Jack was an integral part of Rad Rides is an understatement, he established the foundation for Troy to build his own reputation.

My condolences to all who knew Jack Trepanier.

  13. I remember Jack and Troy attending the DesMoines Goodguys one year. Can't remember which car they brought [I think it was the 50 Buick] but it was great to see Jack supporting Troy...R.I.P.

What a great job on Jack's casket........Had a friend pass away a couple of years ago and had his casket pinstriped and epoxied an old V-8 emblem to it.....nice memories for all............Joe
