Ok guys, i have read and read until my brain hurts. I am doing the old t5 conversion. I pulled the 3 speed and clutch and took a look at what i am working with. The flywheel and clutch plate have heat marks and cracks. I found a company that will make any clutch combo i want but the flywheel is killing me. While i dont put a ton of miles on the truck, i take pride in what i do to it and i want to replace the flywheel. I know i can have it resurfaced, but lets face the fact, if i am going to put a new clutch in, why go cheap on a flywheel that will eventually fail. So why can i not find a new flywheel. I dont want a resurfaced used one from ebay (may as well keep what i have), and the new ones that keep coming up online dont have the three dowel pin holes for the crank. Can i modify a certain one that is known to work? Does anyone have an answer to what will fit these motors? The auto parts stores dont even have it listed. And so everyone knows, i was told by a speedway tech that the speedway clutch disk sold for the flathead to t5 will work on the chevy as well. I will have to call NAPA to find out. Online the pic only shows one dowel hole but i know that the pic isnt usually of the actual product. That is the only place i havent been yet, so maybe they have the real deal. I will post what i find out.

Well i called NAPA today and spoke with them. The rep said that the picture on the website was the actual product and it only has one dowel hole. So even though it list the chevy 235 engine it will not fit. Still looking for any ideas or oldtimer knowledge. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Ok, i am going to back up because i know how some HAMBers are. I have been reading this forum for years learning from all of you guys. I have never posted because i have always found an answer somewhere or another. I currently have a 1957 chevy 3200 with a 235 and 3 speed. I like an old car to reflect the personality of its owner so if its not in mint original condition, i say make it yours. I picked this truck up in pieces and have put it back together a bolt at a time. I am in the US COAST GUARD and move periodically so i may have to leave my autos for a few years at a time. I like making as many parts as i can, that tends to give me alot more pride in what i do. I am also thrifty so i am always looking to save here to give it there. I live by the philosophy that if someone in the world does it every day for a job, then surely i can learn enough to do it once.
