RaceRon, Do you have any info on this car, where it was taken? My father had a black chopped and channeled black 32' five window when I was just a rugrat. I remember playing in it in the garage. He sold it to a guy down the street for $50.00. It was a basket case in the garage about 1968. Just wondering/hoping this is it. Thanks

Indianapolis 500 Veteran, National Sprint Car Hall of Famer, and member of our own Bettenhausen family here in Tinley Park, Gary Bettenhausen, p***ed away unexpectedly yesterday. He was one of the best to ever sit behind the wheel. Although we are all mourning the loss of a family member, we are all celebrating Gary's legacy and what he has contributed to our deep racing history.[IMG]

  11. Sorry to learn of his p***ing. I met him many, many years ago at P.I.R., seemed like a nice guy. R.I.P.

  12. I though I read about 2 years ago this was a shot of a New England scene. Either at Orange or Sanford A.P.

Sorry but no I don't have any info on that car. While some of the pics I post might have a caption or short story, most do not. This one did not.

A nice guy, indeed, fun to be around. And he was an old-fashioned, hard-nosed REAL racer.

I think I see the poor sap that always got to hand-pack the wheel bearings. He was "good at it" so the boss let him do 'em all. LOL
