Threads moved and deleted ?

Discussion in 'Questions & Suggestions' started by 31Vicky with a hemi, Mar 16, 2014.

  1. I had a really nice pontificate composed and lost it somehow.

Someone moved my thread to a place that gets little exposure.
Then I posted another one in a place where it gets more exposure and traffic.
Then that one gets deleted . Know what the pisser is ?????
You fucking deleted the one that had the mother ducking answer to my question !!!!!!!!!!!:mad: and madder.

You could have closed it and I would have at least got what I was looking for.

    Thanks a bunch

If you know that what you are posting is off topic for the area it's posted in, why are you surprised when it gets deleted?

Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!

  3. I moved one out of the traditional hot rods section because it had nothing to do with period-correct hot rods. I deleted the other because it was a duplicate and wasn't germane to period-correct customs. Threads of that sort belong in the "discussions" section.

I also deleted your thread in the Traditional Customs section asking who the mod on duty was and sent you a PM. No response back from you as of yet. Would be happy to help, but you gotta understand that OT threads will be moderated (deleted or moved).

  4. First I'm glad to see that Ryan also dislikes this current configuration of the Hamb. Actuall I think he said " hated it" . I'm not in the habit of posting about off topic stuff here and I have a good grasp on what's on and off topic.

My thread was - "anyone punching Louvers in the cleveland Ohio area?" To me louvers seem to be at the heart of hot rod related and Louvers are pretty damn traditional too. This was a request for information and I'm more than reasonably certain the guys viewing the "traditional hot rods or traditional customs boards would have the best answers. Problem is the hot rod guys won't see it if its posted on the custom board and custom guys won't see it posted on the hot rod board and then there's the styled board.

Not that it's great to have 2 or 3 threads, but with the segregated board as it is now, guys just don't see posts on the other boards. Even important info that's stickied on one board just isn't seen. Look what happened with tech week -

So you think it belongs in the "discussion board" but I strongly disagree. It belongs where the request will get satisfied by members that can see it and have the info. Here's the proof that I am correct- the deleted thread from the customs board had 2 responses and good recommendations for 2 different places that punch louvers local here. The one in hotrod got one response before it was moved.

Thanks for your moderation of the boards, but you kinda fucked me out of my info. I didnt get to copy the info before it was deleted. Funny how it got 2 answers within mins of being posted and by the time I get a pen its deleted. Maybe it fits into "traditional discussions and happenings" but that isn't where it got answered. That means something is wrong,

    the answers were;

A long time ago I had a guy by the name of Tony Mistak punch some for me. Tony ran the autobody program at R G Drage Career Center in Massillon, Ohio. Good guy. You can Google R G Drage's number and ask for Tony.

    and

Red laquer room in Akron. See gene blackford. Good guy.

    ................

as gwhite said, your question should have been in the discussions forum.

  6. Perhaps...the bottom line is that you posted in the wrong place; twice. You seemed pretty aware of that fact;

Why should good content (build threads, meaningful tech posts, history, and features of period-correct cars/parts) get bumped off the first page because someone wants to know who does X in their neck of the woods, wants a piece of trim identified, or needs to know "what's it worth"? That's why there is a discussions section.

I understand there is/was urgency in getting a response...I also understand that the discussions section turns over so fast that threads can get 'lost'. But at the same time, those who are posting appropriate things in the focused sections shouldn't have their threads pushed down the page because of it.

Tell ya what I'll do; I'll re-open your thread and merge it with the other one (in the 'discussions' section). If it rolls off the first page or two, nothing prevents you from bumping it.

  7. Thank you !!!

I don't think it was in the wrong place, but you do and that settles that argument.
The proof is that it was answered in the places I put it with in seconds/mins.
Like I said before, something is wrong and hopefully Ryan's new vision makes it better.

As far as bumping good content, there's a lot of BS on both of those boards that don't belong and I realize as mods you are busy and do a great job. But what 727 Trans, or brake hose has no business on a traditional board , way less than Louvers which is timelessly traditional. You guys control the playground and that's just my opinion.

Anyways tganks again for retrieving the lost info.

  9. I've been a member for a long time and I'm confused as to where to post anymore.

Maybe the new revamped Hamb will rectify the problem in the future.HRP

I don't think it matters what you post....it seems there's always someone that will have issue as to what constitutes as "HAMB Friendly".

You seem to have issues with what the Traditional ERA is.

Suggest observing for a while so you learn what HAMB friendly is..........

  12. Not trying to start drama but are you trying to say what you are building constitutes Hamb Friendly.

The truck is cool but plain and simple it's a street rod. HRP
