    HAMB'ers !

Need links to find "Flip-Top" Style Gas Cap assemblies, and I want a good one that is not some China-leaking-gonna break after one use-POS.
I've seen the $19.95 Marine ones on the Web and Ebay.

This is for my "A" Project is you need to know. I do not want something from a Dodge Challenger

    Sources?

    Personal experiances?

    Thanks,
    Glenn

Got a Triumph one for my latest project Spitfires and TR4/5/6 had them, seem cheap secondhand here so probably are there to. (Because all the restorers buy repro ones)

Yeah, Spitfire caps are great looking. Sunbeam Alpines & Jag XJ-series also have interesting flip-up caps, but they're not flush-fit like the Spitfires.

Norton Commando , you should be able to get one from Wes Scott in Florida (954) 771-8181 . The Norton part number is 06-0681

Lots of other british stuff had them , and 70s Jap bikes copied the idea too.

Jag XJ series had two each here is a whole car with gas tanks etc in Florida for free, ad is three days old.

or try Britishspares search with the
06-0681 part number , should be $39 new.
You will have to make your own filler neck with mounting lugs or get one from a wrecked tank, in which case you might get the cap as well , but most of them have gravel rash if the bike has been wrecked . I can get a tank and cap out tomorrow and take a pic if you want.

All of the ones that look like this had 2 of them. You can barely see one in the pic on the left rear fender behind the glass. I don't know the years. I recently sold this one, with a smallblock conversion, for $300. :(

Early 70's all the way through '86 or so. They should be pretty cheap, I usually get whole cars for less than $200....

This is what I'm going to use in my Model A. It's from Jaguar. It's cheap, chromed, good-looking and works well. Cutted off with steel from a wreck car.

  21. Take a look at Atwoodmarine.com...use.."search beacon " ,keyword "deck fills"...and look at their "Indy" 316 stainless deck fill flip-top ... I've got one on my Track T and it's a very nice ,solid,well-made piece...heavy polished S/Steel....Stan

  22. These Halibrand caps show up on eBay occasionally....from $800 and up ! :D
