Since I bought my roadster I have wanted to change the grill. I thought the '33-'34 grill would look good so I borrowed my buddies DangerRUSS grill to see how it would look.

I really like it and think it flows well with the Duval windshield.

What do you think? Is it too low? I have about 4.5-5 inches of clearance at the bottom.

    Thanks for the input

    Tex

Yeah, looks good. Lay it back at the same angle as the windsheild, maybe section it a couple inches. Its up to you, :D

No it is borrowed from my friend Russ who just got it with a '33 5-window.

I wanted to see what it looks like before I spend the cash to buy one.

I think it looks great, I agree with maybe sectioning a few inches. Those don't come cheap, good luck!

Definitely looks too long to me. If you section it, you'll need to narrow it to keep the proportions...may be better to build your own with similar size/shape/design. Just my opinion though..

  15. Looks like a snow plow. Needs to be sectioned or something, but it IS in the ballpark.

Just my worthless opinion. I'll go back to my Impalas...

No! Since you are looking for opinions. Looks like your getting lazy and you've run out of ideas. Keep looking. Those grilles belong on 33-34's. But if your going for the sloppy, just using what I got laying around rat rod look, knock yourself out. Put a lil' more thought into it. Now, should I tell you how I really feel?

Looks good, but 33 grills are frickin expensive. Thought about making one using the 33 as inspiration?

    In repsonse to curbspeeds comments:

I should have posted better pics of my roadster and you would understand. It was an old hot rod from the 50-60s and has lots of body mods done to it to look like a '34 Ford roadster. Infact besides the doors it is very similar to a '34 roadster. It has been sectioned in the rear and several other modifications.

I am not being lazy. The car has '33-'34 lines that are very swoopy and any square grill shell would look horible.

I just bought a '34 grill shell and once it is mounted poperly I think you will change your mind???

I ain't diggin it. Maybe sectioning would help, I dunno. Reminds me of the old freight train road plows (whatever they're called) I tend to lean towards those grills only fitting on sedans and coupes. They shoot a line up high, it works on a roofed car because the line has something to go to.... the top of the roof. A windshield on a roadster just doesn't have the heft to catch the line that the grill throws. That's as articultaed an opinion as I can give.

But hey man, it ain't about what anybody else likes right? That's why Kustom is spelled with a K.

Sorry, I can't see the car at all. Maybe if the grill was shorter and not so laid back. How about a 37 Ford truck grill cutdown? Seem like a good fit for that.
