Ok everyone .I have an opportunity to trade my 62 impala for a 1950 pontiac of equal shape ..IE everything done but down to paint. Would you do it? does that year of pontiac look good chopped?
personally i wouldn't do it because I don't like those years of Pontiacs. even though i don't like them, i don't think it would look to bad chopped.
it is not a bubble and not an ss but original 283 just replaced floors. Runs great. what do ya think it is worth. I had an offer of 4k for it. What do you think a 50 pontiac is worth. I just do not want to lose if ya know what I mean
I'll venture...this 13 cents worth of wisdom from ColoRODo...the Pontiac could be cool if done correctly...and if all the body work is done, as I assume yours is....you stated: trade my 62 impala for a 1950 pontiac of equal shape ..IE. everything done but down to paint. But, I think the '62 would be worth more simply becuz sixties cars are hot right now...and I'd think yours was worth more than 4 grand...but without a pic of each to compare, it's hard to speculate... Best bet, do what you feel is right...if you like the Pontiac, go for it...take the car out and drive it...see how it feels and if it turns heads...looks are as important as driving well...if you're not 100% convinced after that...pass! R-
I really think that if you want it then do it. They are about the same money wise, but if you are happy that is what matters. I don't think I would but I am kinda partial to those Impalas. Gabe
Huh, I've got a Late Great Chev................then I bought a Pontiac...............now I have 3 Pontiacs. xxx
What are we talking about here? Are both 2 doors? sedans or hardtops? Personally, I'm a lead sled guy, so the 50 Poncho is prime material for the sawzall, some 56 Packard tails....you get the picture. The 62 just isn't my scene. However, the 62 WILL be a better daily driver with the small block and 12V wiring compared to the flathead straight 8 and 6v. So would I do it? Nope, I wouldn't trade it. But I would sell it and buy something that would make a sick kustom
I would do it. But I would not actually do it........ 'cause I got a 50 Poncho already. For sale though. Trade ya the Chev for it. Paul
We are a long way apart. My grand parents were from Norway. Nice car .It looks like you put some work into it. wish I had it. Mike
jepp long way apart. Bought the car in the US this summer. I have done absolutely nothing to it. It's an untuched original. Crachked seat, cracked paint. but a quite wonderful patina. It's got some rust problems in the floors though. where in Norway where they from? do you know? Paul
