I am starting a thread on the goosic bros 888 23T roadster. I am starting the restoration of this car and have obtained some original photos of the car from the family. I am also looking to see what everyone else on here knows about the history on the car and what it was running and when. I know it stsrted out with the alcohol flathead and in about 57 or so the cganged it over to the 283 with 6 97s and a new ch***is. I am looking to do the later version as the body is set up for that ch***is. I have a 57 283 with very early mickey thompson rods , inglewood rev kit, roller cam and 12.5 :1 pistons. No heads or intake yet. I am not sure about the trans but know that the lasalle and caddy trans were the ticket. I have that as well. I also can see that its running a early ford diff and I dont believe it was a quick change. So I will be posting progress of the build as I go along starting with the ch***is . What does eveyone else have on this car? It was B modified champion in 1960 at winter nationals and I know they held a lot of track records in AZ. Anything would be much appreciated. I will be uploading pictures in the next day or so of what I have . Thanks brad

This looks like a fun project. I blew up the picture you posted, but could not see the transmission... picture is too dark around the motor. A popular choice for a transmission is a 55-64 Muncie 3 speed, running second and high. It will bolt right to your motor and there was a conversion kit to mate it to a bango rear end.

Thanks for the posting of those pics. The later one I don't have but I do have the hot rod Mag with it in there. Does the steering box look familiar to anyone on this car referring to the rolling ch***is pictures.

Here is the body now and I plan on leaving it this way as it is original only once, so I plan on building the car to match. Not that I cant build a top notch killer car just I think it needs to be left alone .
