Hey guys. Putting bias ww on my 29 truck with fenders and was wondering about these two types tires.
    1) will the extra inch fill the fendered wheel well too much? One is 28" and some and the the other 29" and some. Think id be cutting it close?

    2) one has a 4" ww and the other is 3" ww. If the front tires ww is about 2 1/4 wide, do u think the 4" will unbalance the look of the 2 tires from a side profile ??

Sorry no pics of my truck with fenders on yet because I havent mounted them but its running a 9" with coil overs and a dropped front axle. Typical hot rod stance. Not channeled or slammed.

Thanks in advance. Happy st. Pattys day!!

I would go with an 8.20 or 7.60x15" myself.. H78/L78's are more 1970's looking.. But that may be what your looking for and if it is than forget what I said...

  3. I disagree,I have L-78 x 15's bias-ply's on my Deuce pickup and they don't look anything like the 70's. HRP

The 78 series tires may look good(I agree) but weren't available until the 60's and in to the 70's and 80's.. That makes them not as traditional as the earlier tire series.. But hey, who cares, right...

  9. I'm am putting blackwall L78's on the rear of my Sedan and they are the 70ish looking type. I know what you mean by that sm48. They do still have a good vintage look, maybe not traditional, but vintage. The www L78's look great if they are the style HRP has on his truck.

Hey "Racer29", I didn't mean to say there is anything wrong with "78" series tires, just stating some facts.. I too am using a set of L78's on the back of my(soon to be on the road) sedan that I picked up very cheap at a recent swap meet.. Post some pics of your sedan...

The L78s were replaced with 235/75-15 and the H78's with 225/78-15

  12. There is also a huge difference in a L 78 bias ply and a L 78 radial tire.

The radial is much wider. HRP
