Pulling body, doors on or off?

About to lift the body off the frame on the 40 olds coupe so I can fix some body mount rot. All gl*** removed except door gl***. Should I leave the doors bolted up and closed or pull them off now to lighten the load? If I pull the doors should I fab up a brace from the upper hinge area to the striker area? I know convertibles and such need the reinforcement but since this is a closed coupe what do you think?

    Thanks, Steve

both ways will work, both are smart with a closed car or open, however, you might want to pull the doors and weld the braces in the openings... never know if you might need to get inside the car, and it also makes the body lighter to move around

Yeah probably would be best to do the brace and leave doors off. I have access through the deck lid area but I may need to get through the door area to get to some of the work.

I've hear of doors being tack welded shut. or if you remove them, make sure you add braces. And when you think you have enough, add some more.
