Made a cool 300 clams with my truck yesterday. A few Sundays ago I drove it to a gathering at a local shop. The shop owner had been approached by a large video game company wanting to record engine sounds for an upcoming game. Mine sounded good, so yesterday I took it in for the recording session. Of the other cars that ran before me, a Corvette, a Maserati and a Porsche, if my straight pipe, blown flattie didn't sound the best at least it was the loudest! However, when this game comes out (18 months away), I would choose one of the other cars if you plan to win. So, anyone else ever rent their hot rod out?
very cool my was used for an Ethan Allen add; http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=671397
Nice. I always loved the sounds of the Impala in Supernatural (TV show). I could tell the sound was not original to the car. Some google searching revealed the sound was in fact from a Ford
Wait a minute; hot rods not costing money but making money without having to sell them? You guys just blew my mind!
Guy wanted to rent my ratted 1954 he**** to drive him to work this past Halloween. Picked him up, literally drove around the corner to his shop and drove inside in front of all his co-workers...Parked, got out (dressed like an old skool undertaker) and opened the rear door and pulled out the casket. Opened the lid and he gets out dressed as Frankenstein...... 200 bones for 15 minutes work, Suhweet!!
No foolin'...The only big offers to make money I ever got was for a getaway car in a bank stickup! "The car was red, and shiny...and stripped down, and it made a loud roar taking off..."
It's easy enough to get in and out of and OK for trips short enough that you don't need to move around to stay comfortable. If there is someone in it with me I have to shove them over to get 5th and reverse. They wouldn't divulge the name of the upcoming game. The company was 2KGames. V8-60, mostly stock with Edlebrock heads. Driver but still under development. I did get one, will try to upload it tomorrow.
