So i traded for this T roadster has good running A banger drive train and frame just wanting little feed back which way to go ? Im thinking fenderless banger with t5 open drive line with 39 rear axel i have and 40 juice brakes all way around 32 wheels. channeled or not ? i dont like the a fenders have 2 sets will prob sell them but would like to see opinions give it to me i can take it !!!! junk it or run with it ?
Either with or without fenders make a great hot rod but get that radiator down so the top of it is even or slightly lower that the cowl. Haven't seen a T roaster or coupe recently with A fenders and boards etc. in a while but it wasn't that unusual 30+ years ago and earlier and looks damn good too.
^^^This. It looks like you've got a previously hot rodded T roadster body sitting on a stock A ch***is that someone took the body from to put on something else. Your fenders are fairly decent, certainly don't JUNK them! But I think the fenderless build plan you've got is great. Take some pictures with those fenders pulled off and try to envision it with a lower stance before you get too deep into thinking about channeling.
Yes radiator is coming down to match cowl. I like fender less, but i like doing different things to. I never saw a t roadster with A fenders or prob did when i was younger and didn't know the difference. I just want a cool little fun hot rod jalopy like would have been done pre war style( i say style because i want the 5 speed wanting to be traditional as possible but i like to drive them ) I think this is the car. a lot of work but hey im up for it
patmanta I think your wright about the channel,and what i have. it would look better on top of frame with drop axle when i get it home sat i will tare it apart and mock it up diff ways to see what i got.
It's also a lot more work to wade through before you're on the road I'm doing a 4" channel on my T build, so it's not like I'm against channeling by any means!
Mine is pretty similar, I didn't want a channel (Not enough room in a T anyway, and would require a tiny height radiator, I like the visual height). Mine is fenderless too but I think it could look real nice with fenders on, a shorter radiator and maybe a sectioned 32 grille. Banger and juice brakes all sounds good to me.
Another trick for looking low without banging the pavement is using abbreviated runningboard splash aprons between the front and rear tires. Lots of Ts were done this way in the T days and after.
Finally got the t home! Guy i got it from his mother had a heart attack in the middle of the swap. Bad deal for him,she had a byp*** Tuesday doing great! so back to the t. Got it home pulled fenders to check frame and there not going back on, the mech brakes are in great shape,motor runs like a watch, trans shifts great, so we are going jalopy for now.
I'd have to agree with 3W Larry (not that it happens very often ) Leave it fendered, but use early A fenders. Check out Lynn bird's RPU. Even though they have been modified, they are a better fit than the improved A's.
I would love to use the fenders but there a little worse for wear. I have one new old stock left front,the right has bad crack up the middle,running boards are shot,and as luck would have it. i didn't get the rears. i thought they went with the car,but didn't come when it got here so im going fender less for now! More bad the deck lid was for an A so im on the hunt for a t deck lid to. This is funny though i looked for an A deck lid for a month never found one for a p.o.s. r r roadster i had so i made one. Finally got rid of it to get this nice body. Going to work on the windshield today got an early 2 piece t for it,but sanctions are missing so going to make some custom short ones and run the bottom half. There is one thing i would like to see is how some of you ran your radiator hoses on a lowered stock a radiator to the banger looks like in going to have to move the outlets to get it to work but i dont care if i do im loving this

YES for the 'T' shell! About the radiator lower hose: A good radiator shop can trim the lower hose ****** short, solder a 1" X 2.5" X 5" rectangular tube to it, going 'up'. The top of the tube gets the rest of the trimmed-off ******, located 3" center-to-center higher, right in front of the cross member. The elder gent that was reproducing the '17-'25 and '26-'27 'T' shells has p***ed away, and nobody has picked up his business. I have scanned all the 'T' parts guys, and there are NO New Old Stock remaining. I was lucky to find a used one I can fix in the HAMB cl***ifieds. (they usually run from $35-$75. Makes a world of difference on a 'T') They look nice with 'A' fenders, but 'A' radiator shells look like the owner couldn't find a 'T'! ...which may be the case...
