Small issue: My speedo cable is no more, and finding parts for older vehicles than 1955 is hard in Sweden (especially for other brands than Ford or Chevy), so my question is simply if you can tell me if I can replace the old cable with one from a Chevy 1954 or such. I know it got the same threads on the trans, but I'm not sure about the threads on the speedometer.
    Thanks,
    Jan C.

Thank you guys, you are great! I thought they looked similar but I wanted a second opinion. I can get one for a '54 Chevy from a company in Sweden without the h***le with overseas payment and the custom's greedy fingers...

Problem solved, got the cable I ordered for a '54 chevy and it fits just fine. Funny thing; The instrument cluster in these old ponchos are exactly the same as Volvo 444 (PV) up to 1957 so it is common over here to replace the speedometer facing to get the speed in km/h. The only backdraw with that is that the Volvo PV have 15" wheels, so it will show about ten km's less then the actual speed.
