Just wanted to introduce myself. Name is Brad. I spent years building muscle cars. Then became a diesel mechanic and working on cars became less fun. I have built a bunch of Harleys over the years. Got into boats for a while. I have come to the conclusion that getting rid of the hole in the water and building a rod will be cheaper. My much better half agrees. I want to find a classic truck and put a Cummins 4bt in it. Build it up as a trailer hauler so I can go find other treasures to play with. Thanks for letting me come play at HAMB. Welcome to the HAMB, here's a build that might interest you: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=858448
Welcome from Maine! My friend Rosey Gerry of Wicked Good Vintage Racing Assn. mounted a circa 50 Ford COE on a later model diesel chassis. You can find him through that website. He may have some insight or advice or at least information about what he did and how. He is very approachable! Tom
Hi, fellow Pacific Northwester! Like you, I enjoy nearly anything with an engine. I prefer speed, but most of my speed comes while bench-racing... I have several projects, but hope to have my custom Softail done before Sturgis (just bought a new S&S 111v for it). My '48 Diamond T is my dream truck to complete to haul my junk around (I plan to install a 6BT in it). I also have a '67 Camaro that I plan to do the Pro-Touring thing with... Eventually! Never really had a boat... Mostly because I don't have the time to even use it. Welcome to HAMB & good luck with your hauler search.
Hey a L8model. You are right up the road from me. That Diamond T isn't the one on hey 12 a few miles east of I5? Brad Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Nope! Mine is still in Oregon. I'm picking it up this Saturday. However, I might need to drive down Hwy 12 to take a look...
