Greetings from down under. I stumbled across H.A.M.B via FB and it looks like my kinda crowd.
I grew up in the sixties. My Dad always had an old car under restoration as a money earner. Down the street lived a rodder who drove his A Tudor Highboy and later his 32 Roadster on a daily basis. One Sunday he stopped and took me for a ride! Life changing moment!
I've had many projects but the only one I've completed is a VW Trike. I sold my 54 Chevy Pickup in bits and now own a recently purchased Pommie truck made by Rootes - an early 50's Karrier Superpoise. I thought I remembered them being very common in New Zealand back in the day but there is very little online in the way of parts etc. Either they are rare as hen's teeth or so common they all got crushed!
How scarce are these in the US of A?

I have 30+ years experience in car t*******. I've trimmed a few rods and I'm happy to give any tips for your projects.

    Hi Big George,
I'm planning to travel to USA next July and will be mainly in Cali & Texas. How hard is it to find unfinished projects for sale? My ideal is a Model A pickup or similar with mechanics & body mostly done, leaving me paint and upholstery to finish. Alternatively I could buy cab, guards etc and build the rest back in NZ.

Welcome aboard from the other side!

Coming to the states in July mainly for a project to take home?

Good idea starting the look now and giving them the hard eye when you get here.

    Good luck with your hunt!
