I searched google and see there are a few more suppliers for chrome plated fasteners for Hot Rods. Any recommendation on who has the best service and price and fastener quality to start with. I'm looking for someone that carries a good selection of jamb nuts, castle nuts, washers, bolts etc.

    Thanks

Why not use stainless steel? Chrome in threads gums things up when trying to use them. Never had much luck with chrome bolts.

I may use stainless in some areas where strength is not an issue, but other areas like castle nuts, jamb nuts plates will be better.

  6. Stainless steel fasteners are low strength. Chrome is available in a higher grade. Make sure your using the right hardware for the application.

Gardner Wescott only polishes the top of the head of the bolt.
If you want the sides of the hex polished,it costs extra.
Their quality has gone down hill lately

I was looking at Gardner, they seem to have been the go to for years. They don't list prices on-line.

These guys seem to have a decent selection. Though missing some head styles (like flange head)

I'm sorry to hear that Garner Wescott's quality may be going downhill. Most of the fasteners on my 27 came from them and are over 25 years old and still holding up great. Their plating was rich and deep and the bolts were perfect and individually packed to protect them.

We have also used Totally Stainless and while they are NOT CHEAP  their stuff is really nice and in all grades, even grade 9.

So the ARP stainless fasteners I used are low grade?

Also the chrome plating can weaken bolts.

have you looked at Amazon Supply?

My son used them in a rod shop he worked in, and they saved lots of money, and got great quality.
