    okay a little poll on chopping..

    What automobiles should never be chopped as the factory got it perfect..
    What automobiles should or has to be chopped as stock is just ugly..
    What automobiles can go either way, as long as it is done right..

    I know you can chop anything but just because you can, should you is the question..

    49-51 Mercury: either way
     
  3. Never - '56 Ford/Mercury Hardtops, '37-'40 Ford Coupe & Tudor, '58-up T-birds
    Should - '52-'55 high-roof Ford/Merc hardtops/sedans
    Either way - Pre-'37 Fords (or for that matter most prewar cars), bathtub Mercs

    Yes, I'm biased.

    Never- '55-'57 Chevys
    Always- Pre-'35 anything
    Either- Fat fender era '35-'54

    Never say never. But always = '49-51 Mercs.

    Never 32 - 48 Ford coupes, 55 and up Chevies. Chopping these cars ruins the proportions. Have never figured out why some people think every car needs a chop job.
