hey, name's joe. live in CT

have come to H.A.M.B a few times and read up on stuff but thought I'd actually register so I could see pictures and "stuff" that I couldn't see as a guest

been a fan of cars since being a teen in the 80's

have a cobra replica, 66 mustang and some motorcycles (both American and import)

have a new found personal interest in cars from the 50's and looking for another project. But please don't tell my wife I'm here, the 2 car garage is already overfilled

    Welcome from Bridgewater! What Town?

  3. Joe,
    Welcome to the HAMB!
Lots of guys here have wife problems!
You know you have it licked if she wants to ride along and starts asking for her own ride!
Try the "investment" line. try to show her your hobby can be valuable!

BTW : I'm looking for a really good 61 Plymouth Fury hardtop for my wife of 42 years.
hope it doesn't take you so long!
    Welcom again,
    Tony

I'm about 30 miles east of you in Cheshire

    Thanks Tony,

The Mustang is actually hers. I got it for her 40th birthday,

her issue with another car is that I need to add $50k to the price for another garage

  6. Hey Joe,
    Sweet "Stang"
Some guys never lick the garage problem!
    I'm one.
Most of my rides over the last 45! (Jeezz I'm old!) have been runners so 3 bays hold the best, the driveway holds the rest! Here in NY the neighbors turn you in if your car has no plates, so having drivers is best.
Everything from a 1927 T roadster to a 61 Aston Martin have been in my driveway!
    Welcome again,
    Tony

    Hey Joe,
I just registered this morning as well.
I had a 57 Crown Victoria in high school. Now 45 years later, I am retired and have been looking for another one that I could afford for about two years.
I gave up on a Crown and recently bought a 56 Mercury Montclair Pheaton. It is mostly restored with a few small repair items that are on my bucket list.
It is a daily driver if I want to but, will probably only take it out on pretty days and over the weekends.
Since my wife is a little gal, I want to convert the drum brakes to disc. The old hydraulic system is to hard for her to use.
I am hoping that there are other Mercury car guys out there who can give me some pointers regarding this change over.
Good luck to you on finding a good 50's beauty.
    Ronnie
