I have not seen a thread like this for a while. Which do you like better and what are you building?

    Hotrods?

    or

    Kustoms?

I like hotrods, but I do like fade-away's on an early 40's car.

But you didn't actually include a poll! Oh well, I always like it when this topic comes up.

Hot rods. Any car originally manufactured after 1935 I much, much prefer stock on the outside with a hot rod drivetrain.

Edit: Oh, well, I guess you did. Sorry.

    Ditto.
2 questions should have 2 polls.

  6. I like 'em all and am building one of each as we speak. What I don't like is all the billet stuff and a car assembled by ordering the parts from a book. Just my2 cents worth.

  7. That's like Blondes or Brunettes...or Redheads for that matter

    Both!

I like and am building both at the moment, but my heart lies with the hotrods first.

I prefer the look of a hotrod over a Kustom ...the Model A is beautiful peice of machinery when made into a nice looking hotrod, then there's the flathead motor in which is an amazing looking engine:)
I hope to learn how to build one some day ...a hotrod w/a Flatty that is!

for me building a hotrod is best in my opinion.....

I've built a couple of customs in my life... the last one was the '49 olds fastback, black primer, shaved, bagged, lake pipes, visor and wide whites......working under the car was a pain in the ass. working under the hood pain in the ass............
my '30 hiboy ez to get under the car and the motor is right there.......

My dream would be a 47 Chevy 2 door sedan...stock body...red with a grey tweed interior. I would run a set of Cragar pro tech wheels, vintage air and an aqua pinstripe with a small gaphic that says "forty seven". The car would have a frenched third brake light and a trailer that was the back half of the identical car. oh...and a dash full of digital guages and an idiot steering column with a ford banjo wheel.

I thoght the goal was to have both. Your cruzing car and a car for haulin ass. Sometimes you can have both but there is always compromise on looks to speed on a custom.

I like them both the same. Actually I LOVE them both the same, but i dont think im creative enough to build a really neat custom.

I voted hotrod, only because that's what I'm building now. If I could swing it, I'd have a slammed kustom too. Oh, and a panhead bobber while I'm at it! ;)

sits level, skirts on back an Lancer caps on front

  25. they are so different, but at the same time very alike. i cant remember who said it (roth??) "Kustoms are for picking up chicks and hot rod s are for getting away from them" or somthing like that... pretty much sums it up theres not much of a problem ether way. I do like kustoms because of the levels of creativity involved in construction, but rods are just so Nucking
    Futs!

  26. You mean like the cars in Custom Rodder magazine? Yuck! Like painted bumpers and Boyd wheels and stuff like that? I'll reiterate: YUCK!!!

I'm building a semi custom. Stashing parts for a hot rod. Wasting my time and dough on drag cars.

    The poll needs more options.

While Barris builds some nice cars, Kustoms are only a small part of it.

  27. that would be a kustom, maybe even a boarder line Pachuco car (old school lowrider.)
