I have a 1964 c10 currently with a 292 and a 3 on the tree. I have a th350 for it, and was wondering which flywheel and starter I need. And also I measured I need to get my driveline shorted roughly 5", can anyone confirm this that has done this swap? And also thinking about getting the rear end re-geared to 3.08 for highway speeds, it currently has 3.73

Should be able to use the typical flexplate and starter for a similar V* pickup from the 1970s, that came with a TH350. 168 tooth flexplate, no weight, and the 64 engine you have should have the normal 7/16" bolts and single dowel pin. But you will need to check it when you get the thing apart, most 292s used 1/2" bolts and 3 dowels. If that's the case, try ordering a flexplate for a later truck with auto trans, for example a 1980 model.

You should wait on the driveline shortening until you get the new trans installed, find the correct fine spline yoke for it, etc. What's your plan for the transmission crossmember? and parking brake? The 1966 truck parking brake cables should work, they don't use the funky crossmember back there.

The 63-72 pickup truck auto transmission crossmember is kind of hard to find, but makes the swap easy.

good call on the rearend gear swap.

Thank you for the info! I have a universal trans crossmember that fits between the rails perfect, haven't though about the parking brake mount though...
