I need to find a supplier for '32 Roadster Frames. I would prefer someone fairly close to us. We are in NE Ohio. I am pretty close to Lobeck's/Just-a-Hobby shop, but I figured I would ask if anyone can supply them us. Thanks,
If I was going to have anyone make me a '32 frame it would be Matt and Denny owners of the Ionia Hot Rod Shop in, where else, Ionia Michigan (just west of Lansing off I 96) BTW, they only make frames for hot rods, not streetrods
If you're looking for a quan***y of frames, you could buy the framerails straight from American Stamping (close to Memphis) and make your own frames.
try Total Performance Inc. you can shop on line at www.tbuckets.com thay have all kinds of stuff { 1923 t-buckets To 34 Ford hot rods } thy are located in WallingFord Ct 06492
"Hot Rod", "Rat Rod" & "Street Rod" are just terms that a small number like to pigeon-hole folks into categories just to feel special.... I'm sure anybody would take my money no matter what it's called that I'm buiding. BTW: I just call them all cars I've been outted........ you nailed me without every meeting me.......... Ahhhhhh NO 40Standard, Good tip... I thought of getting in touch with them to possibly making a jig and ***embling them for ourselves.
Try Squeak Bell at the Kiwi Konnection in Bakersfield... he ships everywhere even international. www.Kiwikonnection.com
Contact Johnson's Hot Rod Shop for all your 32 frame needs. 1-866-577-5477 or go to johnsonshotrodshop.com for email info.
It is my understanding that the Lobeck 32 rails are really three pieces welded to be one....per rail. That may be OK but I prefer a one piece rail myself.......just like the way Henry did it over 70 years ago. Every set of American Stamping rails ( and they are NICE ) that I have seen built into a frame.........has the gas tank setting about a inch too low at the spreader bar. No biggie.....but we did have to heat the rails at the rear and move them up at the rear to get the proper fit for the body/tank/frame horn covers. I just did a 32 frame for my 3W and used a original 32 Ford frame, BUT if I was going to buy a set of rails........I believe I would buy the Dearborn Deuce rails.
I can tell you who NOT to use there in ohio. Bill's Rod and Custom in Srringfield. He put me through hell for a year, he was hoping I would give up and he would keep my big fat deposit. I found out he has done this before! ask around, he's well known . good luck.
Almost all of the rails out there that are stamped are from American Stamping Co (ASC) in MS. I called ASC and their prices are really decent on the rails, box plates and front cross member. If we went that route I think that we would buid a jig & develop our own center cross member to make it worth while on cost.
