Air bag questions: help!!

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by fur biscuit, Nov 18, 2005.

  1. I want to put bags under the rear of my nova, to cut down on the speedbump draggin.

Trey here on the HAMB has the following:

two of them are con***ech, 223, and i measured the port, its 3/4".

the other two are riderite by firestone. it says 224c, and its 1/2".

could any one tell me if either of these 2 sets would be better than the other? i dont think i have a weight issue, nor will i be raising and lowering the car alot.

on the 3/4" inlet bag, can i pull a 1/2" line to it (hard pipe) and then step it to a 3/4" fitting into the bag.

    thanks

bagging a Nova? wrong board man :)

Go with Firestone 2600's with 1/2 ports and 1/2 line. Ebay has them for $69 ea

  3. i should say baggin the reject...i will find a pic of it somewhere

how about the other bags (workin a deal w/ a hamb'r) are those to big, or is there such a thing as to big?

  4. Can you hard pipe airbag lines (flex lines at the pump, valves, and bags) but do all the frame lines in steel line w/ rubber mounts?...is it worth it in terms of time

i've heard of many people use steel braided lines for the airline with high reviews.

you can hardline and you can downsize the tube... You can buy bags that are too big if they rub everywhere even after t*******. Look into the slam specialty bags. Better bags than the firestones imo.

There's a big price difference. Knowing that you get what you pay for usually, what is the advantage to Slam Specialties over, say a Firestone 2600?

slam specialties will ride better after they are broken in than the firestones. but firestones are cheap and are of great quality. i have never had a problem with firestone bags. if you are on a budget i would go with 2600 firestones with 1/2 ports. don't forget to put shocks on it!!!

  10. are there bags out there that could be run with out shocks? i thought you had to keep the shocks, like i was going to fab up my own cups and install them like helpers, but near the shock towers (i think i will have to make up some gusseting in the area though)

You can sell your wife and kids and get the Varishock ShockWave system that combines the shock and Air Ride bags.... Well, maybe not  ...never mind.
