Technical X tape in windows?

    This may be a dumb question but what's the point of the tape on windows?

    When racing with non safety gl***, you have to tape the gl*** so if it breaks it won't go all over the track, or in this case people. Most of the time its just the headlights, but the windshields makes sense to me especially on a couple of early cars. -dd

  4. Hey that's me! We did it also because all the cars at the '53-'54 race were taped up and wanted it to look authentic.

    Just like store front windows during a bad storm....it helps.

  8. Who races with non safety gl***??? Better yet, who runs plain gl*** anymore, at all?

    Both the cars pictured would have safety gl*** original. I have never heard of a car made after 1920 that didn't.
