Cl***ic Instruments makes them in different styles, check this link You can get the Mooneyes version of the same gauge set here You can also get new or rebuilt factory-style gauges at www.chevyduty.com TPI Tech also has quad/speedo sets here I haven't decided whether to rebuild the gauges I have or get new ones, but hopefully those links will give you some ideas of what's out there. -murph
I like the stock ones. Nothing kills an old truck interior like seeing a set of modern aftermarket gauges. Old gauges are part of the old truck charm. Ed PS- Murph, I love your truck. I talked to the previous owner (xadamx?) for about an hour on the phone before I decided that I'd be happier with IFS and a 350. The look is perfect though!
Yeah, SW sure does, but with all the bad press they are getting in another thread, I didn't waste the time to post a link. LOL -murph
Haneline and Dolphin make gauge kits as well. I believe they are the same company with a different logo on their gauges, but I'm not for certain. Reverend Jake
thanks for the info.who used what and do that fit the stock holes I don't want to use two bezels or adapters. thanks bigdoug
TPI and Dohlpin need adapters to fit the stock holes, but they don't really look like adapters when installed. Delco made gauges for school buses, and step vans that bolt right in to the stock holes, until just recently.
I know its probably not in keeping with what you want but 5" Autometer guages fit without any adaptors......
Just the other day I was looking at an old American LaFrance Fire Engine that is being used as a sign for a business. It has the exact same gauges as are in my '50 Chevy P/U. Well, there are a few differances, the oil pressure reads higher (to 60 i think) and the amps go to 100 each way. It also has a matching tac! Granted it was a diesel and the RPM's only go out to 3500, but its an exact match in size and style to the other two. Anybody ever seen one before? The door handles also look to be off an early A/D cab (the turn-down style) There must have been some connection between American LaFrance and GM back then.
I don't know if this is what your after these are Cl***ics in the stock holes,You have to use your original bezels for mounting or you can buy new ones if yours are beat.WHEELS1950
