No...really, what is a Gilera?....I was talking to myself when I said, Back to topic.....I'm at a loss so don't leave me hanging......at my age people may think we ought to know everything, but I've never heard of a Gilera

At least 3 or 4 times a week during the spring/summer. Living in Michigan, I don't get the chance to drive it during the winter. I don't want it on the salt covered roads up here during the winter. I even wait till it rains real hard to wash the winter salt off the roads. So, hell yeah, I drive my 53 as much as I can during the spring and summer. I love the reaction of small kids the most when I drive by. One little girl asked me just a few weeks ago at a gas station if it was Doc Hudson.. lol.. Wish it was a Hudson, only a Ford, but it was cute from a 5 year old girl that took notice of my car.. ;)

Its just an Italian motorcycle that those who own them probably dug them out of the dumpster. It just so happens that Needs Louvers 124V (not his but same model) holds the 124cc pushrod motorcycle speed record. I really think you could insert any cheap, small displacement motorcycle into this experience as I do the same thing with a Hodaka, Motobi, and Bultaco also. Kind of like back in the 1950s when you could drag a Model A out of any windbreak in Nebraska for about $50 and have a lot of fun driving it around with a little bit of work...hot rod is a term that comes to mind. Thanks for asking and I still will apologize for changing the subject as my hot rod is sort of OT too. A Triumph TR3 with V6 Buick. :D

The first summer our roadster was on the road, we averaged 1,000 miles per month going nowhere. Now we just say "the roadster needs to go for a drive", hop in and cruise the hills along the Susquehanna River. It's a great way to unwind and spend some time together.

Now that the tudor is on the road, we'll just have to go twice as often, can't play favorites!!!

Since I finally got my roadster roadworthy back in the Winter, I get out frequently when the weather is suitable for a fenderless, heaterless, and ******* car. Having a ball with it!
Latest outing was cl*** of '56 luncheon @ a restaurant out a a little airport West of town about 8-10 miles on last Thursday. Not everybody goes, but we do this about once a month, to some agreed upon eatery, always enjoy it.
As it was barely warm enough for a diehard like me to call it roadster weather, some actually were wearing jackets, and maybe because some remember my driving from way back then in high school, nobody wanted to ride after lunch, but I had fun anyhow.
On one of my afternoon rides I didn't get home before dark and discovered I need to raise the headlights a bit more, and I'll have to do that before a night ride because of deer.
These rides are good therapy after working on it for all that time, often when my old bones just wanted to go home and sit down.
Dreary, rainey day today, but tomorrow should be a good roadster day.

My 39 coupe is being stored at a friends place while I work on my A coupe in my small garage.
I thought it would be back together by now but had some problems, some bad wood and waiting for replacements, and a bad arm that won't co-operate.
The 39 should be home again for our annual high school show here, that starts the season in a couple of weeks, then its time to put some miles on it.
