I'd also be interested in a shrinking disk.

Getting the top back together slowly. I salvaged a rear window opening from a '38 pickup. Not exactly the same as the cabovers, but making do with what I can get. It is not chopped and set about 1.5" higher on the back panel. I'm trying to lessen the real tall crown look from the rear these truck have.

I still need to make and shape some filler pieces around the window.

    It's easier to learn when you have a pro shaper showing you on a panel and then standing over you why you try it. My tip would be;

    work a small area,
don't get it too hot, only hot enough to see steam when cooling down
    don't heat to blue,
don't try to heat the whole area,
use a spray bottle to quickly cool area, wipe down with rag,

It may take 10 times to shrink an area.

The bed, I still need to fabricate a piece of stainless just in front of the diamond plate for the transition into the wood flooring. I can't wait to see this thing mounted on the ch***is.

How could you build such a cool bed and not mount it yet? I'd be like a big kid on the night before Christmas and would not be able to wait...:)

I've decided to raise the windshield opening 1.75" to avoid the big forehead when these COEs are chopped. Basically, with a straight down 3.5" chop, you have to chop the A-pillar/windshield 3.75". But with the window raised 1.75", the windshield will only be 2" smaller than stock.

I know it may be hard to picture my plans at this stage, but here it is so far.

Tony, after looking at these pictures ,especially the last one,I think you are just trying to get it low enough to get it in the garage! just kiddin ,I think taking the forehead down a little is really a great idea. Phillip

That windshield detail is what separates the men from the boys. Well thought out and well executed!

I got the windshield opening tacked back together. After looking at the truck and planning things out, I've decided on a 2" pancake of the roof. I believe this will give me the perfect proportions I'm looking for. Here is where I'm at so far.

When you look at this view, the big forehead is almost gone, but that is because about 1.5" of crown is gone with the center of the roof cut out.

Here on the side view, you can see how high the roof crown still is.

I took a break from the chop to see what's needed to salvage these front fenders off a '41 Ford cabover. they're beat up, rusted through, and beyond your normal body work to save them. but, I will restore them and they will live on again.

Here is the left fender before restoration.

After some time smoothing out the little dings.

Working on the door right now, but have issues. Does anyone know if the hinges are adjustable. I need to raise the whole door 1/16" before I deal with the gap issue.
