Hey Tony, I knew you would like the EH model.
Devilrod. That is only the tip of a big iceberg of model parts etc.
Have nearly got the EH model done. Only need to refit the rear springs, the muffler/exhaust tip and the tie rods.
I am really pleased how it looks. I need to dig out some pictures of the real car.

    That EH is amazing, Geoff!
Considering the Small Block, the numberplate is a bit sneaky!

    Mr Rae,
That model you have built for your sister is truly an amazing piece of work, not only is it life like in form it is almost as close as can be to real life also! I had to take my gl***es off to see up close that this was not a pro-built street car!

    Amazing talent mate!

    Hi Geoff,
Love your model and remember when I played with the other ones, love you work on the roadster

    Gidday Tony
Sorry to hear your back is giving you a hard time again, touch wood I am going ok still. How funny is it that sometimes the picture you really see is in the background ha ha!! Been working on Jake a fair bit of late, new rear shocks, new exhaust from the extractors back, new wheel cylinders, new cam, lifters & timing gears & repaired the old Banjo wheel which is now back on. Still rocking on the roof insert look alike though, cant make up my mind. Looking forward to Narrandera this coming weekend. Take it Easy Man Regards Garry

Hey Dave. The real EH never had those plates, but it was a bit of a sleeper as you will see by the images below.
Thanks Tom. Ah ha, does this mean I am no longer the no talent bum I have always thought that I was?
Heeeeeeeeeyyyyyyyyyyyyy Ethan. Nice to see you here. Yeah I remember the day you and your dad came down to pickup those big dirt trackers. Yes you did have a good time playing with those toy cars. They all ended up down at Rita and Tony's. Spencer T and Jude also love playing with them.
I am glad you like my roadster, as does your dad. Look out for a couple of images I will post later.
Hi Gary. I am sure you'll have a good time at Narrandera. Looking through some albums trying to find some the images of my sister's EH, I came across some shots of the Jake coupe. I will post them later.
Here's a couple of images of Margartes real EH.

So the EH model is finished. I thought I should put a hot rod in the images.
The roadster is a long term project I have been building for Flathead Tommy's son, Ethan. Maybe I should get back working on it.

With the model finished and packed back into the box it came in. With a few blank sides on the box, it was just begging for some line work!

Hi Garry I am so glad that you are thinking about the roof insert as I always wanted to do this job on the coupe and it never done, Garry just do it as I know it will look cool. Have a good trip on the rod run and snap some shots of kool home build hot rods and post them on here. And Geoff I like the EH it turned out **** hot. Man I really like that channelled roadster it has a good rake on the car, and the roof looks perfect . This is my mate's, Paul Naughton 50 spinna ford.

Here's the shots that said I came across whilst looking for images of my sister's EH.
These were taken the weekend of the Port Fairy rod run in '93. This was the second or third time I hade gone down for the run. I think the coupe had only been on the road maybe 4 or 5 years.
I do have a number of other shots from this particular weekend.

Refer post 1089, I have had this pic/poster from an old hot rod mag, on my wall above my office desk, for years, always thought it was American, now I know it was taken a little closer to home.

Hi All, When I look at all the shots out there it makes me feel special as I counted five hot rods that I owned and build,. Geoff thanks for bringing back lots of my happy times, and the people that are in the shots have become real good hot rod builders today. My nephew Tommy flathead calls me `the original ' and I got them into building true hot rods . Some I see are Geoff wolf man, Jason , Tommy Flathead, Neil, Robin, and so on. These guys all have built old style period perfect hot rods. I am proud that I have handed the torch to these guys and hope they do the same to keep hot rodding alive. history9a.jpg

Nice one Garyd. Good to see another model builder here.
I hope Ethan and Tom are sitting down. I have actually been working on the model I started for Ethan, maybe 2 or 3 years ago.
Anyhow, what I have been doing is working on the back of the roadster body. Adding a lot of the characteristic '32 roadster body pressings that this Ertl diecast body is lacking. Still a bit to do, but it is coming along nicely.

OK, seeing as we are showing models.
These days I predominently work with 1/18th diecasts.
But I did start my model building in 1/25 plastic. Nothing was ever made box stock and I also did a lot of scratch building.
Model building has been as much a part of my life as hot rods have been.
Anyhow how here is a scratch build 1/25 belly tank salt car I built many many years ago.

Hi Geoff, yes always built models as a young bloke, I hadn't built a model for a while now, but slowly I am getting back into them. My Dad was a big model builder and I guess I just tried to do what he did, mine are no where as good as yours or my Dads but I enjoy trying to make them look as good as I can. The spinner was an old AMT 1/25th scale kit that my brother got for me recently, I had already built one of these years ago but I are just trying to improve on the last one I built. I look forward to seeing your collection one day.

    I hear you GaryD.
I have been building/collecting for probably 45 years. I know a lot of hot rodders are model builders. Tony used to build and I have been trying to motivate him to get back into it.
I recently got a video e-mail from Renee'. It featured Spencer T holding the AMT spinner coupe kit, that Sam had found at a swap meet recently. What Spencer T was asking, was for me to help him build it. So with a bit of luck Tony will come onboard also. It was a neat video, because Mabel Rose and Jude were also featured in the 'cast'.
Damn now I need to find the image of my 1/25th Spinner coupe model.
But whilst I am searching for that I will show a 1/18th diecast I did of my coupe. The model is based on the MotorMax American Grafitti 5W. Obviously I seriously modified the model to end up with this rendition of my 5W.

Ok I found what I was looking for. As another modeler friend of mine would say, 'here is some seriously damaged plastic'. Meaning very very modified.
This is my take on a Steve Stanford design shown in Rod and Custom many years ago. I actually had this model built before the ZZ Top Copperhead version of the real car was done.

    hi Geoff,
I really appreciate you building a model for me and it looks great! I feel that I'm really lucky to know someone like you so thanks. maybe I'll build a car like this one day! My dad has been working on our Coupe and still has some problems but it's still gion' good. Dad still has some boxes of old models he did back in the 90's and you've inspired me to go get that box from my grandma's house and start to rebuild them and this will overtake my Lego!

Once again Geoff, they look great compared to what I can build and I just love your coupe version, great to see it got some people thinking about models and hotrods and reminiscing about things. Below was a model that Dad built for me a longtime ago before I built the roadster and although it is a 32 roadster I did copy it in many ways even with the number plates.
