Technical Mechanical drum Emergency brake needed

    Hope it's still OK to ask about "traditionally styled" stuff.

    I have rear discs on a narrowed 8" Ford rear. The rotors came with it, no idea of original application (non vented, 5x4.5" bp). They have a 7" diameter drum surface inside the rotors, and I have been told some cars have mechanical E brake ***emblies that use these drums.

    Before I head to the bone yard I wonder if anyone knows what vehicles I ought to be crawling under.

    Are you sure it's not an 8.8 Ford rear?

    That sounds like the Explorer kit for small-bearing 9s. There's third-party adapters for the Crown Vic stuff (which I believe uses a vented rotor) but the Explorer kit is a Ford Motorsport product.
