    I'd rather drive the Scarab though.

    Did you read in the link about the interior? It came with a card table, and only the driver's seat was fixed in position. Pretty righteous.

    The Stout Scarab, along with Bucky Fuller's Dymaxion were probably the purest expression of the Art Deco ideal in that era. Followed closely by the Airflows, of course. However, they're not really to my taste. I have a feeling that a Dodge Caravan, painted maroon, shod with 16" whitewalls and employing chrome speed line trim would have greatly pleased the men who designed these vehicles. To me a car's mechanicals are too important a part of their aesthetic. I'd rather have a '38 Ford as my Art Deco ride.

    Still, they are remarkable, thanks for sharing.

    It's different. Different is good. as long as its got a table throw a tv in it and some pizza and beer.:D
