Wass sup fellas, I'm needing help with a 54 buick roadmaster I have I've just started messing with it would like to see if it runs. I've checked for spark and it has spark I've sprayed gas down the carb and connected the fuel pump hose to clean gas container it's just turns over about 3 to 4 times and its like it will get stuck it will stop I'll try again and it does the same thing what could this mean? im using a charged up battery and keep the charger on it to keep it charged also the engine is a 322 nailhead motor. I've checked the firing order and it seems good so I'm not sure if its cus it's been sitting so long the engine gets stuck after a couple cranks.

Try pulling all the plugs and see if it turns over better, put some light oil in each cyl to help lubricate the rings. If this helps then reinstall the plugs and try it. If it does not help
then it sounds like perhaps broken rings getting jammed.

x2 . if it still bites back , remove the coil wire if that helps try retarding the timing a little . [ rotate the distributor in the rotation of the rotor .]

I would check the condition of the battery cables and the wire to the starter. If it isn't getting full juice it won't crank it long.
If it's been sitting a long time the fuel pump is probably toast. I rigged up a jerry can with a Schrader valve to push fuel into the carb for these situations.
I have a 55 Super with the same motor and I live in Henderson.

Ima try this out till hopefully the rings aren't Brocken

Cool thanks even if the fuel pump didn't work I figuired it would still try and start while pouring little gas to the carb right
