Hello everyone, Tom Ingram, myself , and all others who organized/worked the event, would like to thank you all for attending the 2014 Viva Las Vegas. It was by far the largest , and cars came from all over. Special Thanks To: Lonely Knights for assisting , Memory Lane for feeding us, and all other Car Clubs that attended. Congrats to Max Grundy for winning "Best of Show" with his bitchen 1959 Pontiac Safari 9 passenger wagon.
This gentleman flew from Finland to Massachusetts , bought this shoebox, then drove it all the way to Las Vegas. He took as much of old Route 66 as he could. Total miles he predicts was around 3,500 - giving hims The Furthest Driven award.
Best Hot Rod went to this beauty Deuce 5 window. He brought with him, pals with a stunning black Deuce roadster, and a Deuce sedan.
Great show again Axle! A lot more cars this year & quality of the cars to! We had a blast as usual! Missed the meet and greet at noon, was a little preoccupied! The only complaint I had was it took 45 minutes to get my wrist band to get in the show and we were 3rd inline. They were suppose to be handing them out at 9am we didn't get into the show until around 10. Otherwise very good show! Thanks Axle!
Hi, Are you talking about bringing a car in through registration? If so, the gates weren't scheduled to open until 10:00 a.m. on Thursday & Friday.
Married during VLV 10 Wife fell out of love at VLV 15 Custody Battle during VLV 16 Spent VLV 17 weekend at home with my daughter "VIVA". Yes, named her after the show. We never know what life is going to bring from year to year. Have been to 10 VLV shows, hope to make it next year. I wanted to say thank you for posting photos of the show. Hope you all had a good time.
He is from Norway, not from Finland. Here is a roadtrip thread about his journey: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=873828&highlight=shoebox
Axle, no the high roller 4 day pass. This was Saturday morning. You could get your wrist band outside or inside the Orleans. We got ours inside. The security dude said it would be quicker to wait inside because the lines I guess were a couple blocks long. They were apparently handing out wrist bands outside before they were handing them out inside? Never the less, it's done, over and we still had a blast! Will continue to go. BTW the bands were awsome!
My wife and I already have our room booked for 2015! Hope to gather a crew of northeastern cars to take the trek from PA.
Great show this year. Although the line was long, it only took me about 10 minutes to get in when I got there about 9:30am.
Axle, Are ratty cars something of the VLV past? The quality indeed seems higher each year! Now back to my sun burn.....
Wish I could have been there this year and hang out with you guys,Nick Kallos and David Mock and our Cool Vegas Detective buddy.Maybe next year.
We had a blast. Already planning next year as well. No sunburn here as my wife made sure to bring 110spf sunscreen. Shoes on the other hand...could have been better.
Only been to VLV in '07 and this year. Boy what a difference! The cars were so much better and we three Rod Tossers had a blast-thank you so much for all your hard work![/URL]
Thanks for all of the hard work, it was a great show and keeps getting better. The ratty cars were few and far between and even then they were above my definition of a you know what. Can honestly say that here weren't 20 cars there that I wouldn't like in my driveway. If the Lone Star Roundup was filtered as well I'd be going back to it next year, but did them both this year and it's Viva forever for us. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Criminal, thanks for the compliment. We kept missing you every time we walked by your camp, as Viva always goes you are pulled a million places a minute, but no complaints here! More things to do and nice people than any other show!
