Well my wife has been wanting a 59 Chebby for a long time, she learned to drive in a 59 Elky. And when she seen Mamma Rash's car at the drags it just lit the fire again. So we drug this heap home yesterday. Its a little on the rough side but its complete. 6er and a glide. The IROC wheels were on the car...I think they add to the gayness.
Anyone have any good parts sources for 59's? It needs some repair panels and a few trim pieces. Also who is a stocking dealer for Supremes other than Moon?

I personally haven't bought anything from him because I'm sceered to spend money right now. But, I have asked him about a hundred different things and he always comes up with something. And, he hasn't told me to F off yet. Do a google search for "59 Chevy parts" and all kinds of stuff will pop up. Be sure to check the club sights as they will have links and some of those dudes have been hoarding parts for a long time. Stay away from Impala Bob's. Just my advice. SHe doesn't look too bad and that was a great price!!! </font>

Sorry Nads, this is the wifes baby. And from the way she acts this car is never going anywhere. She's even getting rid of her VW when its road worthy.

First car was a 59. Loved it. Try Mill's Supply Co. for sheet metal. Year One, Harmon/s, Impala Bob's, for new plastic and trim parts. I have sonme Impala parts from a former loved one, you are welcome to. Just for the shipping cost. If there is anything you need in my junk. Think I have four boxes of stuff.

There is a decent 59 around the corner from me, it just sits there and never moves. Every week or so I make a point of walking the dog down there so I can look for a for sale sign on it. Of course, my Ford has been sitting in my driveway for just as long...

Rashy, My love! I relly did not know you needed anything. Never heard you say. But, You know I have always loved you the best. Ifn ol Greasy don't take them, they are yours. What I have is some small parts I took off of a parts car.Then I sold my 59 and the guy did not take the two boxes of parts. Three years ago, I dont thinbk he is coming back.
Yep, '59s are a world onto themselves. FWIW, they can be lowered a LOT very easily. Up front you will have to clearance the straight six oil pan, or raise the engine and use a low profile breather, move the steering arms to the bottom of the spindles and trim and plate the front crossmember. After that you can pick up a pair of late caprice police springs, trim them to the height and install. For the back, use late caprice police or station wagon springs trimmed to heigth, a thin block between the axle and the wishbone, and slightly clearance the floorpan for the driveshaft. I don't have any photos of my black '59 wagon, but I ran'205/65/15s up front and 285/70/15s out back and had two inches of clearance between the ground and the front of the rocker and three and a half inches between the ground and the back of the rocker panel. I didn't have to modify the wheelwells or fenders except to roll the top edge of the fenderwells. Mike's got the a similar setup on his old HotRodPro car. He sold the "vintage" Boyds on ebay for a fortune and had cash left over after he purchased the "Milner Special" Chrome wheels and cut sidewall BFGs. Even this low it takes a LOT to bottom it out.
Modernbeat...that second shot is *****ing.......being a (mostly) Ford man.......I'm impressed how 59 Chevy's look good in any form, wagon, fourdoor, two door post.....not to mention 'verts and hardtops......
