The newest Rodder's Journal has a feature on a rootbeer colored three window many people believe to have one of the best looking chops ever given to a three window.

So seeing Clark's Deuce in the classifieds and thinking ahead for my own benefit got me wondering if there are any historically great examples of chopped Deuce five windows.

I haven't seen the issue of Rodder's Journal your refering to but if I had to guess I'd bet it's Doyle Gammel's. In my opinion it's one of the all time great '32 3w's. I've heard it is being or has been restored and looking better than ever. I liked it best with the big block and 4 spd. When he first built it I think it had an Rochester injected SBC, but maybe my memory is a little fuzzy:) Very sweet car.

This ones not historical either, but I'm still kicking myself for getting rid of it.

I'm not really a fan of chops where they take more off the front than the rear. Just doesn't work for me.

I generally think they look best when the quarter window gets to the square point. Here's a couple and one famous yellow one that never really did it for me, but does have a nice chop.

I saw Marks car (the "Hop Up" coupe) in person and that thing has a great chop!
It really has the perfect look, especially with the fenders.

My friend had one that to me was spot on, it had 4" removed and looked perfect..I wish i had pics of it..

Lynn Yakel's coupe was featured in the September '50 HRM along with Don Waite's roadster.

Chopped and channeled 5-window, perfectly proportioned.

I think it all depends. The 5-window that Dave Lane built for George Poteet only has a one inch chop, but it looks bitchin.

Damn, you shouldn't be admitting that on a public forum! :D:D
just jokin', Dave's cool. got to hang out with him at the Rhinebeck GG's show a couple years back..
I was checkin your 56 out in Rhinebeck too, i think like 3 years ago or something like that..
Aside from it being a 56, you did a hell of a job in creating a badass rendition of the TLB car!
I was all over that thing that weekend..
I took a shit load of pics of it, but the're on a site that can no longer be opened so i can't them anymore..
BADASS man, thats all i can say to describe it!

Sorry for the highjack...back to chopped deuces :D
